ABOUT ME
I was born in Maine, grew up in Atlantic Canada, have traveled abroad and now again reside in Maine. The iconic Maine coastline, rivers, parks, and lakes provide a bounty of activities for the outdoor enthusiast, as well as many opportunities for those inspired to capture its natural beauty. I’ve also had the good fortune to be able to travel the world from Europe to the Mid-East and Africa, and experience the richness of those cultures and I want to share some of that experience with you.
I create work according to my aesthetics, and for my own sense; however, I hope that you find your own significance and find something you are pleased with. A great work of art can convey much that is difficult to put to words. It has been my attraction to the arts that pushed me and brought me to this point.
My end-state is to create art that you will love and proudly display at your home or office to enjoy.
my processes
I want to control the entire process, therefore, not only do I press the shutter release, I do my own edits, do my own printing, cut the mat board, and do my own mounting and framing. It is a lot of work. The work you see now is mostly digital, but I also shoot analog with 35mm, medium format, and 4x5, and I develop my own film. Soon, I will be posting work from alternative print making, such as was used in the nineteenth century, including silver gelatin, salt prints, platinum/palladium, and carbon. These are really immersive processes, that when executed well, bring another level beauty and depth to the print.
